Day 48
Choose God Over Riches

*“You cannot serve God and money.”* (Matthew 6:24)

Reflection:
Zacchaeus climbed a tree just to see Jesus, then instantly promised to give half his wealth to the poor and repay anyone he’d cheated four times over (Luke 19:8). Hebrews 13:5 calls us to “be content with what you have,” warning in 1 Timothy 6:10 that “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” Where does financial worry or the chase for more steal your peace?

Choosing God over riches isn’t about poverty … it’s about freedom from money’s grip so you can experience true contentment. Jesus declared salvation came to Zacchaeus’ house the moment he released his wealth. Generosity breaks the cage of comparison and fear, proving God is your provider. This generation’s culture measures worth by net worth; kingdom living finds security in the One who owns everything. Your next open-handed act (generous tip, unexpected gift, or simplified lifestyle) could invite heaven’s abundance and transform your heart. Don’t let gain master you; serve the God who multiplies what you release.

What financial pressure tempts you away from trusting God?

Today’s Challenge: Identify one money-temptation and pray Hebrews 13:5 over it. Act generously today … extra tip, secret gift, or debt release. Zacchaeus’ release brought salvation to his home.

Prayer: God who provides, Zacchaeus’ tree-top generosity exposes my money-fears. Help me choose you over riches, finding deep contentment in your faithful supply. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
