Danny E. Davis was living a Christian life, holding to sound doctrine, yet something was missing in his relationship with God. Trials more severe than any he had known led him to pray one specific prayer. Roughly eight months later, God answered it, and he purposed to read through Scripture again but this time to learn about God first, and only then what God expects of His people. He had spent decades pursuing correct worship and right doctrine, but he had never heard about pursuing God simply to find out who He is.
As years passed, more severe trials followed, answered in ways that convinced him God was near, driving him to a singular desire: to see God above all else. “When You said, ‘Seek My face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face, LORD, I will seek’” (Psalm 27:8, NKJV) is now the consuming desire of his life.
Danny preaches the words of Christ with passion, because it is by His words we will be judged. He does not soften what it means to seek God wholeheartedly, but speaks with love, not condemnation, having walked the road himself from comfortable Christianity to diligent pursuit. His message is singular: diligently seek God, “for He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6, NKJV) … a reward that is not comfort, but God Himself.
As a preacher, teacher, speaker, and founder of Earnestly Pursuing God Ministries, Danny carries this message worldwide through sermons and devotionals forged in trial. He holds an M.A. in Early Christian Church History, but his authority flows from a life surrendered at the altar of Scripture. His mission is etched in every sermon he preaches and every page he writes: to encourage you to diligently seek God with whole-hearted devotion.
