Seeking God’s Will in Prayer

“Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

Reflection:
Facing crucifixion’s cup, Jesus prayed through blood-sweat in Gethsemane—“Not my will, but yours be done”—surrendering human dread to divine plan that purchased eternal redemption. 1 John 5:14 promises, “If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us,” while Psalm 40:8 reveals, “I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.”

Are we pushing our personal agenda or genuinely seeking heaven’s purpose? Will-aligned prayer transforms self-focused requests into kingdom partnership where God’s greater good supersedes our limited vision. Jesus’ agonizing submission didn’t avoid the cross; it empowered resurrection victory, demonstrating how yielded will releases salvation-power. When the heart cries “your kingdom come” above “my preference,” clarity emerges and power flows. While this generation demands divine endorsement of human plans, kingdom prayer reshapes desires to match His eternal blueprint. That conflicted decision? Pray Gethsemane surrender and trust; God’s will proves perfect.
