Day 118: Seeking God Through Surrender
Scripture: Job 13:15

“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.”

What are you holding onto too tightly? Job’s words in Job 13:15, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him,” reflect surrender to God’s sovereignty. Proverbs 3:5-6 promises, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart … and he will make straight your paths.” Surrendering control is an act of worship that brings us closer to God’s will.

Reflection: Job’s surrender was not passive but an active choice to trust God’s plan, even when it led to suffering. Earnestly pursuing God requires releasing our grip on our own plans and desires, entrusting them to His sovereign care. Surrender aligns our hearts with His purposes, allowing us to experience His peace and guidance. Today, pursue God by letting go of control, trusting that His path for you is perfect.

Today’s Challenge: Identify one area (e.g., a worry, a plan) you need to surrender. Pray, “Lord, I release this to You,” and rest in His care.

Prayer: Lord, I surrender my need for control. Guide me as I trust Your perfect will, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
