Day 139: Seeking God’s Strength in Weakness
Scripture: Job 12:13, 16
With God are wisdom and might; He has counsel and understanding… With Him are strength and sound wisdom.
Are you relying on God’s strength to carry you through your weaknesses? 2 Corinthians 12:9 reassures, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness,” showing God’s strength shines in our frailty. Isaiah 40:29 promises, “He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength,” encouraging dependence on Him.
Reflection: Job acknowledged that true strength and wisdom belong to God alone, even as he felt weak and confused. Pursuing God means relying on His strength when ours fails. Job’s recognition of God’s power pushed him to seek the One who could sustain him. When we feel inadequate, our pursuit of God becomes a surrender to His might, allowing His strength to carry us through.
Today’s Challenge: Identify an area where you feel weak or overwhelmed. Dedicate 5 minutes each morning this week to pray for God’s strength, asking Him to empower your pursuit of Him.
Prayer: Almighty God, Your strength and wisdom sustain me. Help me to lean on You in my weakness, relying on Your might to carry me. Fill me with Your power, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
