Meet God in Secret

*“Go into your room and shut the door.”* (Matthew 6:6)

Reflection:
Daniel made a habit of praying three times a day in his upstairs room with windows open toward Jerusalem, even after the king’s decree made it punishable by death in the lions’ den (Daniel 6:10). Psalm 91:1 describes the reward: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Where’s your go-to quiet spot—maybe a corner of your bedroom, a park bench at lunch, or your car before the commute?

Secret prayer isn’t about hiding from people; it’s about building intimacy with your Father who sees what no one else does. Daniel’s private devotion didn’t just sustain him through exile … it gave him the courage to face lions and the authority to rule an empire. Those unseen moments fueled his public boldness.
