Day 34: The Tree and God’s Authority

Scripture: …of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat… (Genesis 2:16-17).

Reflection:
God’s first command was a test of trust. Obey His Word, or face death (Genesis 2:16-17). Cain, Nadab, and Israel learned: worship without authority is rejected. John 4:24 demands spirit and truth. The early church shows the pattern and God accepted their worship (Ephesians 1:7). Are you following it?

Do you want Him to accept your worship? Pursuing God means submitting to His way in worship and daily obedience, not ours. Surrender one area of “my way” today.

Today’s Challenge:

  1. Examine your worship and life for biblical authority.
  2. Correct any actions for which you have no Bible book, chapter, and verse as authority.
  3. Say: “Lord, I follow Your Word alone.”

Prayer:
Father, I submit to Your authority. I repent of additions or shortcuts. Lead me in true pursuit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
