Day 124: Humility in Speaking of God
Scripture: Job 42:7

“The Lord said to Eliphaz… ‘My anger burns against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.’”

Do your words reflect God’s truth? In Job 42:7, God rebukes Job’s friends for speaking wrongly of Him, while affirming Job’s honest faith. Proverbs 18:13 warns, “If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.” Humble speech aligns with God’s character and draws us closer to Him.

Reflection: Job’s friends spoke confidently but wrongly, while Job’s honest wrestling honored God. Chasing after God requires humility in how we speak of Him, ensuring our words reflect His truth and love. When we pause to seek His wisdom before speaking, we align our hearts with His and draw others closer to Him. Today, pursue God by speaking with humility and care.

Today’s Challenge: Before speaking about God or someone’s situation, pause and pray for wisdom to reflect His truth and love. Otherwise, keep silent before Him.

Prayer: Lord, give me humility and knowledge from Your Word to speak rightly of You or to not speak at all. May my words draw me and others closer to Your heart, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
