Pray for Wisdom Today

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God.” (James 1:5)

Reflection:
Solomon’s lying awake, a young king with a nation to lead, and God asks, “What do you want?” (1 Kings 3:9). Instead of wealth or power, he prays for wisdom to guide justly. God not only grants it but adds blessings beyond his request, making him a beacon of insight for the world. Proverbs 2:6 says, “The Lord gives wisdom,” and Colossians 1:9 prays for Spirit-filled understanding.

Life can feel like a puzzle—decisions about work, family, or faith leaving you unsure. Solomon didn’t rely on his own smarts; he asked God for a discerning heart, trusting the One who sees the whole picture. When’s a time you needed clarity and God came through? Maybe a choice felt foggy, but a prayer or verse lit the way. Asking for wisdom isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s an invitation for God to guide you like a friend pointing out the path. Solomon’s prayer didn’t just help him rule; it drew people to God’s truth. Your request for wisdom could bring clarity to your chaos, helping you walk confidently in His plan.
