Day 229: Pursuing God’s Purpose Through Diligence
Scripture: Genesis 41:33-34

Now therefore let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man… Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land and take one-fifth of the produce… during the seven plentiful years.

Are you pursuing God’s purpose through diligent work? Colossians 3:23 urges, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,” promoting excellence. Proverbs 16:3 instructs, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established,” assuring God’s blessing on diligent efforts.

Reflection: Joseph pursued God by diligently planning for Egypt’s famine, reflecting a heart seeking His purpose. Earnestly pursuing God means pursuing His plans with excellence, even in high-pressure roles. Joseph’s wisdom and diligence show that actively seeking God involves stewarding His assignments with care, trusting Him to multiply our efforts.

Today’s Challenge: Approach a task today (e.g., work, home project) with extra diligence as unto God. Pray for His wisdom to guide your efforts, deepening your pursuit.

Prayer: Lord God, as Joseph worked diligently for You, help me to earnestly pursue You by pursuing Your plans with excellence. Bless my efforts, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
