Day 233: Pursuing God’s Humility in Power
Scripture: Genesis 41:15-16

And Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it…’ Joseph answered Pharaoh, ‘It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.’

Are you pursuing God’s humility in positions of power? James 4:10 instructs, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you,” promoting humility. 1 Peter 5:6 echoes, “Humble yourselves… under the mighty hand of God,” encouraging reliance on Him.

Reflection: Joseph pursued God by humbly attributing his dream interpretation to Him, not himself. Earnestly seeking God means seeking humility, even in power. Joseph’s example teaches us that actively seeking God involves giving Him credit, ensuring our influence points to His glory, not our own. Ask God to help us to never seek a crown but give Him glory and allow His praise to be our contentment.

Today’s Challenge: In a moment of recognition today, deflect praise to God (e.g., in conversation, prayer). Reflect on how this humility strengthens your pursuit.

Prayer: Humble God, as Joseph gave You glory, help me to earnestly pursue You with humility. Let my life point to Your greatness. Yes, Lord. Yes, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
