Day 14: Examples of Trifling with God – Saul and Samson
Scripture: Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings… as in obeying the voice of the Lord?… (1 Samuel 15:22).
Reflection:
God values obedience over sacrifice every time. Saul’s half-obedience in 1 Samuel 15 cost him the kingdom; God withdrew His Spirit, and Saul never recovered. Samson in Judges 16 wrecked his life with recklessness, but all he needed was repentance, humility, and heeding God’s Word for blessings to flow.
Their failures prove trifling with God loses His favor. Diligent pursuit uses gifts for His glory through service or prayer.
Where are you trifling with obedience? Because full surrender brings His blessing.
Today’s Challenge:
- Make a list of areas of half-obedience.
- Cross out the compromises.
Prayer:
Lord, I surrender fully. I repent of trifling. Guide my pursuit with obedience. To Your Son be glory, in His name I pray, Amen.
