Day 15: Cultivating Reverence in Pursuit

Scripture: For our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29).

Reflection:
God is portrayed as a consuming fire, demanding awe in our approach. Psalm 139:23-24 calls for heart examination: “Search me, God, and know my heart…” Numbers 30:2 requires kept vows, and 1 Peter 4:17 warns judgment starts with us. Diligent pursuit through prayer or study honors His majesty.

Approaching God casually? That’s a mistake, and it leads to distance. This verse insists on reverence to align with His holiness.

Ask yourself: How can you cultivate awe? Because His worth demands our best.

Today’s Challenge:

Make a list of casual approaches to God.
Cross out the irreverence.
Pray this out loud: “Lord, humble me with Your holiness.”

Prayer:
Father, Your holiness humbles me. I repent of casualness. Create a clean heart within me. Guide my pursuit with awe. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
