Day 87
Gather to Seek God

“Where two or three gather… there am I.” (Matthew 18:20)

Reflection:
Early believers met daily in the temple and from house to house, eating, praying, and teaching together, resulting in such powerful unity that awe came upon everyone. Hebrews 10:25 warns “not to give up meeting together,” while Psalm 133:1 celebrates “how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

Do you pursue God primarily in isolation, or do you regularly experience the power of seeking him with others? Gathering with other believers isn’t an optional aid; it’s God’s design for amplifying his presence, sharpening faith through encouragement, unleashing kingdom impact far beyond individual capacity. Fellowship with fellow Christians wasn’t meant for Sunday only. The early church gathered daily. You say, “That’s because they lived close by; it’s different today, we’re so spread out.” Not so fast; if Christians only gather once or twice a week, and never interact otherwise, is that love? How can you come to love someone you don’t spend time with? Is that the love Jesus expects from us towards one another and Him?

Early Christians’ daily togetherness didn’t just sustain them through persecution—it allowed them to turn the world upside down. When iron sharpens iron, sparks fly and edges refine; your prayer partner, small group, or congregation provides the friction needed for genuine growth that isolation cannot produce. While the world increasingly isolates through technology and busyness, kingdom power flows through true community where Jesus’ presence is. That quick text, phone call, or meetup with another believer could ignite revival in your sphere—don’t neglect the power of gathering (not just Sundays).

Who could you connect with today to seek God together?

Today’s Challenge: Reach out to a fellow believer and pray or worship together—whether in person, by phone, or video. The early church’s daily gatherings birthed unstoppable global movement.

Prayer: Lord, just as your first followers experienced explosive growth through daily shared devotion, multiply the power of my seeking through gathered faith with others, making your presence unmistakably real among us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
