Day 85
Glorify God in Your Work

“Work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” (Colossians 3:23)

Reflection:
Joseph served with such integrity in Potiphar’s house (refusing temptation and managing every detail with excellence) that the Egyptian official entrusted him with everything he owned, even though Joseph was technically a slave. 1 Corinthians 10:31 declares, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God,” while Proverbs 16:3 promises, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Does your work—paid or unpaid, glamorous or mundane—feel like worship offered to God, or has it become a necessary drudgery?

Glorifying God through your work means approaching every task with the conscious awareness that you’re serving an Audience of One who sees your heart’s motivation and rewards faithfulness regardless of earthly recognition. Joseph’s diligent administration in an Egyptian household wasn’t temporary busywork; it was God-ordained preparation that positioned him to save nations during famine. When you work as unto the Lord—pouring excellence into details others overlook and maintaining integrity when no one’s watching—your labor becomes a powerful testimony that elevates even menial tasks to eternal significance. While this world measures work by paycheck, status, or weekends away, kingdom living transforms every effort into sacred service that advances God’s purposes. Dedicate your next task specifically to God’s glory today … watch divine favor rest on your faithfulness.

What specific work task today can become an intentional offering of worship to God?

Today’s Challenge: Before beginning one particular work task, dedicate it to God using Colossians 3:23: “Lord, I do this work with all my heart as service directly to you.” Approach it with unusual excellence. Joseph’s household service saved nations.

Prayer: Master Creator, just as Joseph’s faithful service in slavery positioned him for national deliverance, make my daily work a living offering of worship that glorifies you and advances your kingdom purposes through ordinary faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
