“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)

Reflection:
Ruth’s simple commitment to follow Naomi—“Your people will be my people and your God my God”—led her to faithfully glean fields for grain, but that everyday obedience positioned her to become part of the lineage of King David and Jesus Christ himself. John 14:15 makes it clear: “If you love me, keep my commands,” while Colossians 3:17 instructs us to “do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Do your daily actions—work, relationships, chores—reflect conscious love for God, or have they become mindless routine? Do you live consciously in the presence of God? Do you know what that means? Loving God through your actions means elevating even the most ordinary tasks into sacred service by doing them with excellence as direct offerings to him who sees everything.

Ruth’s faithful field work wasn’t glamorous or immediately rewarded, but because she did it “as working for the Lord,” God wove her story into the greatest redemption narrative in history. When every deed becomes devotion, your life testifies to God’s worthiness more powerfully than words alone ever could. While this generation compartmentalizes faith to weekends or special occasions, kingdom living infuses eternity into every moment and motion. Dedicate one specific task today as an act of love to God—watch the ordinary become extraordinary in his hands.

Today’s Challenge: Choose one task (work project, household chore, or act of kindness) and dedicate it to God using Colossians 3:17: “Lord, I do this specific task in Your name for Your glory.” Approach it with excellence. Ruth’s field gleaning produced the Redeemer of the world.
