Day 207: Pursuing God’s Justice for the Oppressed
Scripture: Exodus 2:11-12

One day, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his people and looked on their burdens, and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew… He struck down the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

Are you aligning with God’s heart for justice and the oppressed? Psalm 82:3 commands, “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute,” calling for action. Micah 6:8 requires, “To do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God,” integrating justice into faith.

Reflection: Moses’ early act of defending a Hebrew, though flawed, shows a heart stirred to seek God’s justice. Actively seeking God involves pursuing His heart for the oppressed, acting with compassion. Moses’ passion, later refined by God, teaches us that diligently pursuing God means aligning with His desire to defend the vulnerable, guided by His wisdom.

Today’s Challenge: Advocate for someone in need today (e.g., donate to a cause, speak up for justice). Pray for God’s guidance to pursue His heart for the oppressed.

Prayer: Just God, as Moses cared for the oppressed, help me to please You by seeking justice. Guide my actions to reflect Your compassion, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
