Day 217: Pursuing God’s Purity in Temptation
Scripture: Genesis 39:9

How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?

Are you pursuing God’s purity when tempted? 1 Corinthians 10:13 promises, “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability,” providing strength. Psalm 119:11 states, “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you,” emphasizing Scripture’s role in purity.

Reflection: Joseph pursued God by choosing purity when tempted by Potiphar’s wife, even at great cost. Actively seeking God means seeking His holiness in temptation. Joseph’s commitment to honor God, despite risking imprisonment, shows that diligently pursuing God involves choosing righteousness over worldly gain, relying on His strength.

Today’s Challenge: Identify a temptation (e.g., dishonesty, pride, lust). Pray for God’s strength today and make one choice to honor Him, like avoiding a compromising situation.

Prayer: Holy God, as Joseph pursued Your purity, help me to pursue You by resisting temptation. Strengthen me to honor You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
