Seek God’s Presence in Prayer

“In Your presence there is fullness of joy.” (Psalm 16:11)

Reflection:
Moses is standing on a mountain, leading a stubborn people, when he prays a bold request: “If Your presence doesn’t go with us, don’t send us” (Exodus 33:15). God responds with His glory, a tangible nearness that guides Israel through the wilderness. Psalm 27:8 says, “My heart says, ‘Seek His face!’” and Hebrews 4:16 invites us to approach God’s throne with confidence.

There’s something special about just being with God, not rushing to ask for things but soaking in His presence. Moses knew that plans, even good ones, weren’t enough without God’s nearness. When’s the last time you paused to simply enjoy Him? Maybe life’s been a blur of tasks, and prayer feels like another to-do. But sitting with God, better than a quiet moment with a close friend, fills you with joy that nothing else can match. Moses’ pursuit of God’s presence didn’t just guide a nation; it brought him face-to-face with the Creator. Try lingering with Him today, maybe with a psalm or a worship song. Your heart could find the fullness of joy that carries you through any desert.

Today’s Challenge: Spend 15 minutes with no agenda, praying Psalm 27:8 and Psalm 16:11: “Lord, I seek Your face.” Moses’ chase brought glory; yours could bring joy.
