Day 266: Seeking God’s Comfort in Grief

Scripture: 2 Samuel 12:20

So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped.

David’s son had just died. He got up, washed, and went to worship. Not to sulk. Not to demand answers. To worship. Psalm 34:18 says the Lord is near the brokenhearted. Second Corinthians 1:4 says He comforts us in affliction, not around it.

Reflection: Grief tempts us to pull away from God right when we need Him most. David did the opposite. He walked straight into God’s presence with his grief still fresh. That is not denial. That is faith.

Today’s Challenge: If grief is near you today, do not isolate. Worship through it, even in one small act of prayer or song. Write down how His comfort met you.

Prayer: Comforting God, David worshiped You in his sorrow instead of running from You. Heal my heart the same way, in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
