Day 200: Seeking God’s Mercy in Failure
Scripture: Numbers 20:12

And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, ‘Because you did not believe in me, to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.’

Are you turning to God for mercy after failures? Lamentations 3:22-23 affirms, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness,” offering fresh mercy. Psalm 51:1 prays, “Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to Your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions,” modeling confession.

Reflection: Moses’ failure to honor God at Meribah shows that even in mistakes, seeking God’s mercy is vital. Chasing after God means turning to Him for forgiveness when we falter. Moses’ continued leadership despite this setback teaches us that earnestly pursuing God involves humbly seeking His grace to move forward after failure.

Today’s Challenge: Confess a recent failure to God in prayer today. Ask for His mercy and take one step to make amends, trusting His grace to renew your pursuit.

Prayer: Merciful Lord, as Moses sought You despite failure, help me to diligently seek Your grace in my shortcomings. Restore me to walk faithfully, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
