Day 253: Seeking God’s Peace in Persecution

Scripture: Psalm 27:1-3

“The LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell.”

Isaiah 26:3 promises perfect peace to the mind fixed on God. Philippians 4:7 says that peace surpasses understanding and guards the heart, which is precisely what fear cannot do.

Reflection:

David asked “whom shall I fear” while actual enemies were trying to devour him, not hypothetically. Peace under persecution is not the absence of threat. It is confidence that the threat does not have the final word. If your peace evaporates the moment pressure shows up, it was never anchored in the stronghold David described. It was anchored in circumstances.

Today’s Challenge:

When fear rises today, say Psalm 27:1 out loud. Then take one bold action you have been avoiding out of fear.

Prayer:

God, You are my light and salvation just as You were David’s. I will not let fear dictate my steps. Be my stronghold today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
