Day 228: Seeking God’s Strength in False Accusations
Scripture: Genesis 39:17-19

Then she spoke to him with these words… ‘The Hebrew servant… came in to me to laugh at me. But as soon as I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment beside me and fled…’ So… his master was angry.

Are you seeking God’s strength when falsely accused? Psalm 18:2 proclaims, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress… my God, in whom I take refuge,” offering strength. 1 Peter 3:16 advises, “Keep your conscience clear, so that… those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed,” encouraging trust in God’s defense.

Reflection: Joseph pursued God by seeking His strength amid false accusations. Earnestly pursuing God means relying on His truth when others malign us. Joseph’s silence in the face of lies shows that diligently seeking God involves trusting Him to vindicate us, keeping our eyes fixed on Him.

Today’s Challenge: If you’re facing misunderstanding or accusation, pray for God’s strength today. Respond with grace in one interaction, trusting Him to defend you.

Prayer: O’ God of Justice, as Joseph endured false accusations, help me to love You by trusting Your truth. Give me strength to respond with grace, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
