Day 220: Seeking God’s Timing in Waiting
Scripture: Genesis 40:23

Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.

Are you seeking God’s timing during seasons of waiting? Psalm 27:14 exhorts, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage,” encouraging patience. Ecclesiastes 3:11 states, “He has made everything beautiful in its time,” affirming God’s perfect schedule.

Reflection: Joseph pursued God by trusting His timing during two years of waiting in prison. Earnestly pursuing God means believing His plan unfolds perfectly, even in delays. Joseph’s patience teaches us that diligently seeking God involves waiting with faith, confident in His timing despite prolonged silence. Would we wait two years in prison when we had done no injustice and still trust God? Joseph’s obedience and patience should humble us, and we should remember his prison time the next time we struggle to understand trials in our lives.

Today’s Challenge: Identify an area where you’re waiting on God. Pray for patience today and set a daily reminder to trust His timing this week, deepening your pursuit.

Prayer: God of Patience, as Joseph waited on You, help me trust You by trusting Your timing – even if I have prayed for months or years. Strengthen my faith in the waiting. Remind me of Joseph’s burden when I struggle. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
