Seeking God’s Will, Not Your Own

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

Reflection:
Abraham’s climbing Mount Moriah, heart pounding, Isaac at his side, knife heavy in his hand (Genesis 22:2-3). God’s command to sacrifice his son makes no sense to him, but he trusts anyway. Romans 12:2 says, “Be transformed… to test and approve God’s will.” Psalm 143:10 prays, “Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God.”

Surrendering your plans is like hiking blind, but Abraham’s faith proved God’s path is better. What’s a choice you’re wrestling with? Lay it down, like he did on that altar. It’s not about clarity but trust, knowing God’s got you. Abraham’s obedience sparked a nation; your trust could spark His peace today.

What decision are you trying to control instead of trusting Him?

Today’s Challenge: Name a choice you’re facing. Read Proverbs 3:5 and Psalm 143:10 out loud, praying for God’s will over yours. Abraham’s climb led to blessing; your surrender could too.

Prayer: God, Abraham’s trust shames my need for control. Guide my choices, align my heart with Your will, and lead me to Your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
