This sermon confronts faithful, attending church members with the truth that knowing doctrine and being active in the church are not the same as loving God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength … as Ephesus and Sardis both proved … devotion can quietly replace God Himself as the object of love. Using the parables of the Talents and the Sheep and Goats, it calls hearers to stop giving God “leftovers” and to pursue Him diligently, starting today.
