Month 1: Foundations of Seeking God (Days 1–31)
Begin your pursuit by establishing a heart fully committed to seeking God. This month focuses on prioritizing Him, overcoming initial barriers, and building habits of stillness, trust, and scriptural engagement to lay a strong foundation for whole-hearted devotion.
Day 1
Why Seek God with All Your Heart?
“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)
Reflection:
Picture Hannah, knees bruised on Shiloh’s dusty temple floor, tears streaking her face as she begs God for a son (1 Samuel 1:10-11). Her rival’s taunts sting, her husband’s comfort falls flat, and Eli mistakes her desperation for drunkenness. Yet her heart’s all-in, chasing God like He’s the only one who can fill her emptiness. Deuteronomy 4:29 promises, “You will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and soul.” Psalm 34:18 adds, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.”
That’s the raw deal with seeking God fully—it’s not a tidy checklist; it’s a gut-level lunge for Him, like Hannah’s whispered vow in the chaos. Where’s your heart half-asleep? A worry that won’t quit? A decision you’re dodging? Hannah didn’t wait for polished prayers; she spilled her pain, and God answered with Samuel—a kid who’d shift a nation’s fate. Your pursuit doesn’t need to be perfect, just wholehearted. Drop the cautious faith today. Name that one place God feels far off—maybe a fractured friendship or a nagging fear—and chase Him there like Hannah did. Her tears birthed a prophet; your honest chase could spark something eternal.
What’s one spot in your life where you’re holding back from seeking Him fully?
Today’s Challenge: Find a quiet corner—your car, a park bench, anywhere you have solitude and can focus. Read Jeremiah 29:13 and Psalm 34:18 out loud, slow and raw. Name where God feels distant and pray it from the heart, like Hannah’s temple cry. Her all-in plea changed history; your chase could reshape your story.
Prayer: God, Hannah’s raw prayers shame my half-hearted tries. When I’m scared to bring my mess, ignite a fire to seek You with every ounce of my heart. Meet me close, like You did her, and turn my ache into hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
