Day 58
Subject Line: Return to God Today
*“Return to me, and I will return to you.”* (Zechariah 1:3)
Reflection:
The prodigal son, starving in pig filth, rehearsed his return speech but found his father running to embrace him before apologies finished (Luke 15:20). Joel 2:13 promises God is “gracious and compassionate, slow to anger,” and Hosea 14:1 calls, “Return to the Lord.” Where have you drifted—neglected quiet time, unresolved sin, or divided affections?
Returning isn’t punishment; it’s homecoming to open arms and a fresh start. The father’s reckless welcome erased every failure; your heavenly Father waits the same way. No matter how far you’ve wandered, one step back brings His full embrace and restored purpose. This world hides shame; kingdom grace invites confession that cleanses shame. That neglected prayer rhythm or hidden compromise? Name it and return—His celebration party is ready. Don’t let distance define you; His return defines your destiny.
Where have you drifted from closeness with him?
Today’s Challenge: Name your drift specifically. Pray Zechariah 1:3: “I return—draw me back.” Destroy any symbolic reminder of it. The prodigal’s return sparked feast.
Prayer: Welcoming Father, like the prodigal’s dust-road homecoming, I return from my wandering, confident in Your waiting grace and full restoration. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
