Seek God’s Direction in Prayer

“He guides me along the right paths.” (Psalm 23:3)

Reflection:
Abram’s leaving everything familiar in Ur, following God’s simple command: “Go to the land I will show you” (Genesis 12:1). With no map, he trusts God’s voice, building altars at each step, and his journey becomes the start of a nation. Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all your ways submit to Him, and He’ll make your paths straight,” and John 16:13 promises, “He will guide you into all truth.”

Life’s full of crossroads—big choices about jobs, relationships, or faith. Abram didn’t have all the details, but he followed God’s lead, one step at a time. Did you see that? When’s a time you felt God nudge you forward, maybe through a scripture or a sense of peace? That’s His guidance, like a shepherd leading a sheep. Instead of overthinking your next move, try praying for His direction and trusting the first clear step. Abram’s obedience didn’t just change his life; it blessed the world through his descendants. Your prayer for guidance could light up your path, bringing you into His purpose with confidence.

What path needs God’s guidance?

Today’s Challenge: Pray Proverbs 3:6 and Psalm 23:3: “Lord, guide [this decision].” Obey the first peaceful step. Abram’s walk birthed a nation; yours could birth clarity.

Prayer: God, Abram’s blind trust shows my need for control. Guide my steps with Your voice, making my paths straight. Lead me on. Lead me on to my eternal rest; one step at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
