Seek God’s Plan Through Prayer

“I know the plans I have for you.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Reflection:
Nehemiah’s heart aches for Jerusalem’s broken walls, so he spends months fasting and praying for God’s direction (Nehemiah 1:4-11). God answers with favor from a king, resources for rebuilding, and a clear path forward. Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct you… in the way you should go,” and Proverbs 19:21 reminds us, “The Lord’s purpose prevails.”

When life feels uncertain, it’s tempting to map it out ourselves. But Nehemiah shows us the power of seeking God’s plan first. Maybe you’re facing a big decision—where to go, what to do next. Instead of guessing, Nehemiah prayed and waited, trusting God had a purpose bigger than his own ideas.

Think about a time God guided you, maybe through a verse or a clear instinct. That’s His promise at work, leading you step by step. Try bringing your plans to Him today, asking for His blueprint. Nehemiah’s prayers didn’t just rebuild walls; they restored a nation’s hope. Your pursuit of His plan could bring clarity and purpose to your journey.

Today’s Challenge: Skip a meal, pray Jeremiah 29:11 and Psalm 32:8: “Lord, show Your plan for [this area].” Write down your impressions. Nehemiah’s prayer restored a nation; yours could restore clarity.
