Day 180: Seeking God’s Strength in Temptation
Scripture: Daniel 1:9-10

And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs, and the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, ‘I fear my lord the king, who assigned your food and your drink…’

Are you relying on God’s favor to resist temptations? 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape,” promising divine help. James 4:7 commands, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you,” linking submission to victory.

Reflection: Daniel faced temptation to conform to Babylon’s ways, but God’s favor strengthened him to resist. Diligently seeking God means seeking His strength to overcome temptation. Daniel’s reliance on God’s provision shows that pursuing Him equips us to stand firm, trusting His power to sustain our resolve.

Today’s Challenge: Identify a recurring temptation and pray for God’s strength to resist it today. Memorize 1 Corinthians 10:13 and recite it when tempted to deepen your pursuit.

Prayer: Mighty God, as You strengthened Daniel against temptation, help me to earnestly pursue You by seeking Your power. Guard me from sin and keep me faithful, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
