Day 299
Seek God’s Strength for Service

“Be strengthened with power through His Spirit…” (Ephesians 3:16)

Reflection:
Elisha, praying over a dead boy, sees the Spirit raise him to life, his compassionate service revealing God’s heart to a grieving mother (2 Kings 4:34). His faith unleashed miracles. Acts 1:8 promises power through the Spirit, and Psalm 68:35 declares God’s awesome strength. Serving others can drain us when compassion fatigues. Yet, Elisha’s prayer shows the Spirit empowers selfless acts.

Think about a time your service blessed someone—maybe a kind act showed God’s love. This month’s theme of the Spirit’s power urges us to seek His strength for service. Is there a need you’re hesitant to meet? Like Elisha, pray for power—it could work wonders. His service didn’t just heal; it revealed God. Your service could glorify Him too.

What service needs the Spirit’s strength?

Today’s Challenge: Serve someone in need (e.g., listening, helping) and pray Ephesians 3:16: “Strengthen my service, Spirit.” Act with His power, like Elisha’s prayer that raised a boy.

Prayer: Lord, My God, as Elisha’s service showed Your heart, strengthen my acts of love with Your mighty Spirit. Let my service glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
