Day 311
Live with an Eternal Hope
“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming” (1 Peter 1:13)
Reflection:
Joseph, languishing in Egypt’s prison, serves faithfully despite betrayal, interpreting dreams and managing trust (Genesis 40). His hope, anchored in God, rockets him to save nations. Titus 1:2 promises eternal life from a God who doesn’t lie, and Hebrews 6:19 calls hope an anchor for the soul. Injustice can bitter us because unfairness stings and delays hurt. Yet, Joseph’s cell shows eternal hope turns dungeons into training grounds.
Think about a time hope sustained you—maybe faith outlasted pain. Having eternal perspective calls us to set our hope on Christ. What injustice tests your hope? Like Joseph, trust God—it could redeem nations. His hope didn’t just endure; it glorified God. Your hope could too.
What injustice needs eternal hope?
Today’s Challenge: Write “Hope anchors me” on a note. Pray 1 Peter 1:13 over one unfair situation: “Set my hope on Your grace, Lord.” Trust like Joseph’s prison faith that saved lives.
Prayer: Hope-Anchoring God, Joseph’s prison service shames my bitter complaints. When unfairness tests me, fix my hope on Your coming grace. Let my endurance glorify You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
