Day 13: Reverence in Pursuit – Don’t Trifle with God

Scripture: When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools… (Ecclesiastes 5:4-6).

Reflection:
This is serious business — God demands reverence, rejecting careless vows. Galatians 6:7 warns, “God cannot be mocked.” Acts 5:1-11 shows the cost of hypocrisy with Ananias and Sapphira’s fate. Diligent pursuit honors God’s holiness through sincere prayer and commitment. Trifling with vows insults Him; chasing Him requires awe.

Where do you lack reverence? Because honoring Him starts with keeping our word.

Today’s Challenge:

  1. Make a list of unkept vows to God.
  2. Cross out the delays.

Prayer:
Holy God, teach me reverence. I repent of flippancy. Guide my pursuit with sincerity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
