Day 297
Seek God’s Guidance in Love
“God is love” (1 John 4:16)
Reflection:
John, the disciple Jesus loved, writes that love flows from God, modeling Spirit-led compassion that binds the church in unity (1 John 4:19). His life poured out God’s love. Romans 5:5 says the Spirit pours God’s love into our hearts, and Psalm 143:10 prays for His good Spirit to lead. Loving others can be tough, can’t it? Even Christians let you down. Yet, John’s writings show the Spirit’s love transforms relationships.
Think about a time your love reflected God—maybe a kind act healed a bond. The Spirit’s power urges us to seek His guidance in love. Is there a relationship needing His love? Like John, let the Spirit lead—it could mend hearts. His love didn’t just write; it united believers. Your love could glorify God too.
What relationship needs the Spirit’s love?
Today’s Challenge: Pray 1 John 4:16 over one strained relationship: “Guide my love, Spirit; make it Yours.” Take one loving action, like John’s compassion that bound the church.
Prayer: Father, Love-Guiding Holy Spirit, as John’s heart poured Your love, lead my relationships with Your compassion. Let my love glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
