Day 123: Gratitude in Trials
Scripture: Job 1:21

“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

What can you thank God for today, even in hardship? Job blessed God despite loss, saying, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21). 1 Thessalonians 5:18 commands, “Give thanks in all circumstances.” Gratitude shifts our focus to God’s presence, drawing us closer to Him.

Reflection: Job’s gratitude in the face of loss reveals a heart devoted to God’s glory, regardless of circumstances. Diligently seeking God means cultivating gratitude, which reorients our perspective to see His hand in both blessings and trials. By giving thanks, we acknowledge His sovereignty and draw nearer to His heart, finding peace in His presence. Today, let gratitude fuel your pursuit of God.

Today’s Challenge: Write down things you’re thankful for, even in a trial, and thank God for them in prayer.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your presence in my trials. Help me seek You with a grateful heart, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
