Day 301
Seek God’s Power in Faith
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you” (Acts 1:8)
Reflection:
Peter, shrinking in fear by a courtyard fire, denies Jesus three times to a servant girl (Luke 22:56–60). Weeks later, at Pentecost, the same Peter, filled with the Spirit, preaches with such fire that 3,000 souls turn to Christ (Acts 2:41). What changed? The Spirit’s power ignited his faith. Hebrews 11:6 says faith pleases God, rewarding those who seek Him earnestly, and Ephesians 3:16 prays for inner strength through the Spirit. Fear can choke our witness—doubt silences, rejection stings. Yet, Peter’s transformation shows the Spirit turns cowards into bold ambassadors.
Think about a time you spoke faith boldly—maybe a conversation sparked hope. The Spirit’s power calls us to seek His fire for faith. Is there a witness moment you’re dodging? Like Peter, ask for His power—it could change hearts. His sermon didn’t just save; it birthed the church. Your faith could glorify God too.
What faith step needs the Spirit’s power?
Today’s Challenge: Before a faith-sharing moment (e.g., with a friend, coworker), pray Acts 1:8: “Fill me with Your power, Spirit.” Speak boldly, like Peter’s preaching that turned thousands.
Prayer: Father, hear my prayer for the Fire-Igniting Spirit, Peter’s leap from denial to Pentecost preaching exposes my timid faith. When fear mutes my witness, flood me with Your power to speak Your truth. Let my bold faith glorify You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
